Gabay Agham is a fellowship program for young Filipino men in science and engineering who aspire to use their education and talents in service of others and of the Philippines.

We believe education is not only about preparing for a profession; it is also about forming the kind of person who will use that profession well. 

Gabay Agham supports academically excellent students while encouraging them to grow as leaders, serve communities in need, and develop their personal and cultural lives. Through financial assistance, community outreach, cultural activities, and fellowship, we seek to accompany young men as they prepare for lives of competence, integrity, and service.

Why Gabay Agham?

Science and engineering have enormous power to shape society. But technical excellence alone is not enough. The Philippines needs scientists and engineers who are not only capable in their fields, but who understand the people they serve and recognize the responsibility that comes with their knowledge.

Gabay Agham exists to help form such leaders.

We look for students who combine academic excellence with a genuine concern for others, particularly the poor and less privileged. The program asks Fellows not simply to receive support, but to become people who give something back.

What We Do

We Support

Each Fellow receives a fellowship grant per academic year, renewable yearly, provided that program requirements continue to be met. The grant is intended to support the Fellow's educational and personal needs while he pursues his studies.

We Form

Gabay Agham is more than financial assistance. Fellows participate in cultural activities and fellowship gatherings designed to encourage personal growth, cultural awareness, and a sense of community. The annual General Assembly brings Fellows together to understand the program's goals, encounter scientists and engineers, and reflect on how their fields can contribute to society.

We Serve

Service is an essential part of the fellowship. Fellows participate in or organize outreach activities that benefit the poor and less privileged, in collaboration with participating Study Centers. Fellows are expected to undertake at least two outreach activities each academic year. We want Fellows to experience firsthand that professional excellence finds its fullest meaning when placed at the service of others.
